Cork Therapy Centre would like to welcome a new team member, Damien Murphy MISCP.
Damien graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick in 2014 (first class hons). He is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is CORU registered. He has experience working across hospital, private practice, sports and elderly care settings. He has a special interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, combining a hands-on and rehabilitation approach to recovery.
After graduating, Damien worked in Orthopaedic settings in hospitals in Galway and Limerick, working primarily with people after fracture, elective and non-elective surgery. From here he moved to New Zealand where he worked in a busy private clinic, gaining experience across a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries including neck, back, shoulder and knee injuries. He returned to Ireland for a short time after this, again working in a private clinic. Damien spent the past 2 years in Melbourne before returning to Ireland in September 2020.
Damien plays with his local GAA club. He is passionate about sport, fitness, health and well being and enjoys combining this interest with clinical practice. He recognises the importance of strength, mobility and recovery in injury prevention and performance.
